Burda World of Fashion (English edition) $80/year or $10/single
issue
If
you are a seamstress and love patterns and fashion, Burda
World of Fashion,
is going to be your favorite
magazine! Not to be confused with the Burda patterns
that are sold in stores, this German magazine (translated to English)
actually includes the patterns for all of the designs featured in
it- about 50 in each issue! It includes an assortment of
patterns for misses, plus size, babies, toddlers, and home
dec.
All of the patterns are color coded, multisized
and layed overlapping in a center pull-out pattern section.
You need to trace the patterns onto tracing paper, rather than cut
them out. The patterns do not include seam or hem allowances,
so you need to remember to add those while you are
tracing.
The majority
of the patterns are for misses sizes 4-14, with a handful of
patterns for plus size and children. Special issues for Plus sizes
come out twice a year, and are not part of the subscription
price. The instructions generally do not include
illustrations, so you need to be familiar with basic sewing
techniques.
